Tonight, Beth Phoenix was officially inducted to the WWE Hall of Fame, joining its class of 2017.

The former three-time WWE Women’s and one-time Divas Champion was inducted by her Divas of Doom partner and best friend Natalya, who called this Hall of Fame ceremony “destiny”.

Natalya would go on to share the story of first meeting Beth, working hard together to impress their trainers Fit Finlay and Arn Anderson, deeming themselves as The Fabulous Moolah and Mae Young, traveling the world and their table tag team match against LayCool.

When Beth took the stage, she credited her grandmother for introducing her to wrestling, which Beth referred to as her “first love”, and said that the WrestleMania X between Bret Hart and Owen Hart is what inspired her to become a wrestler.

She credited Molly Holly for helping her get in the business by quietly paying for her OVW tuition, passing along more professional looking ring gear and teaching her more of the wrestling business. Beth went on to thank some of former WWE opponents including Gail Kim, Katie Lea, Traci Brooks, Ariel, Cherry, Melina, Maria Kanellis, the Bella Twins, Vickie Guerrero, Tamina, Michelle McCool, Layla, Kelly Kelly, Alicia Fox, Eve Torres, Trish Stratus, Mickie James, Natalya, Santino Marella and Candice Michelle, who Beth credited for helping create “The Glamazon”.

When speaking of the WWE’s Women’s division, Beth says they’ve come a long way and called the future for female WWE Superstars “bright”, thanks to its current generation of stars.

Beth also took a moment to express her gratitude to Chyna for breaking down barriers for women, which allowed her to participate in the Royal Rumble, and that Beth called the proudest moment of her wrestling career.

In closing out her speech, Beth thanked her husband, fellow WWE Hall of Famer, Adam “Edge” Copeland and their two daughters Lyric and Ruby, with the message that should they ever feel like they don’t fit the mold, its because they were meant for greater things.
