Dirt from Down Under: The Latest Australian Wrestling News & Results

We always hear about independent wrestling in the USA, but what about those oft-forgotten countries… like Australia? Here are the latest happenings in the Australian wrestling scene, including recent results and upcoming events you can attend:

July 30th – PWAQ (Chermside, QLD): Storm defeated Niki Nitro to become the first ever “Women’s Underground Champion”… this was Storm’s debut for the company.

July 30thSWA (Newcastle, NSW): Eliza Sway beat Cobey Starr and Baby Devine (Mighty Mel was the match referee) in a triple-threat match to retain her Women’s title.

August 5thPWA Australia (Liverpool, NSW): Jessie McKay and Shazza McKenzie bested Madison Eagles and K.C. Cassidy in tag action.

August 6thRCW (North Adelaide, SA): Savannah Summers topped Melody Summers, Eliza Sway and Miami in a fatal four-way match with help from sister Melody.

August 13thNAW (Albion, VIC): Nikita Naridian (also known as Kellyanne English in PWWA) defeated her sister Lowzen to become NAW’s Women’s Champion… post-match, she gave Lowzen a vicious curb stomp.

August 19thAAW (Warnbro, WA): Imogen Jane and mystery partner B-Money defeated Storm and mystery partner Killah in mixed tag action.

August 20th – AAW (Warnbro, WA): Imogen Jane defeated Storm to retain her Women’s Championship.

August 20thPWA-C (Canberra, ACT): K.C. Cassidy defeated Madison Eagles.

August 26th – PWAQ (Logan, QLD): Baby Devine defeated Storm to become the “Women’s Underground Champion”… this was Storm’s first title defense… Niki Nitro made her presence felt after the match and informed both girls she intended to take the title she feels is rightfully hers.

August 28thPROWL (Hemmant, QLD): Storm def. Niki Nitro.

August 27thAWF (Blacktown, NSW): Selene def. Rachel Rose.

August 27th – SWA (Newcastle, NSW): Eliza Sway triumphed over Cobey Starr and Aurora in a triple threat match to retain her Women’s title.

September 2nd – PWA Australia (Liverpool, NSW): Jessie McKay, Kellyanne English, Evie and Megan-Kate def. Madison Eagles, Kellie Skater, Britenay, and J.P.E. in an eight-woman tag… Nicole Matthews defeated Shazza McKenzie.

September 3rdPWWA (Liverpool, NSW): Shazza McKenzie def. Britenay… Bombshell Bo def. Minx w/ K.C. Cassidy… Eliza Sway and Kellyanne English def. Harley Wonderland and J.P.E…. Megan-Kate def. Savannah Summers… Evie def. Kellie Skater… Madison Eagles retained the SHIMMER title over Jessie McKay and Nicole Matthews.

September 3rd – RCW (North Adelaide, SA): Miami def. Melody Summers.

September 9thWrestlerock (Richmond, VIC): The “Barely Legal Bitch” Kellyanne defeated Shemale by DQ (“inappropriate touching”)… she also participated in a battle royal but did not win… for those that don’t know, Wrestlerock hosts over 18’s shows.

September 10th – NAW (Albion, VIC): Nikita Naridian wanted to celebrate her title victory from last month’s show, but the celebration was cut short by Lowzen… the two ended up brawling for “a good five or six minutes”.

Upcoming Events

September 17th – PWAQ (Ipswich, QLD): Baby Devine is set to defend her “Women’s Underground Championship” against Storm and Niki Nitro in a No Holds Barred match.

September 24th – PROWL (Cleveland, QLD): Storm will face off against an unnamed opponent in a Queen of the Pride tournament qualifying match.

September 30thMCW (Tullamarine, VIC): Shazza McKenzie vs. Harley Wonderland

October 8th – AWF (Parramatta, NSW): Aurora vs. Rachel Rose

October 15thWarzone Wrestling (Berwick, VIC): Shazza McKenzie vs. Eliza Sway

October 15th – NAW (Albion, VIC): Nikita Naridian vs. Lowzen will main event the show in a Falls Count Anywhere match.

January 21st, 2012 – PWAQ will be reviving their “Queen of the Warriors” tournament concept… the one-off event was held in February 2009 and the winner was future WWE developmental diva, Tenille. She bested Kellie Skater in the finals and ended her undefeated streak in Queensland… confirmed names for the tournament are Harley Wonderland, Sara Jay, Storm and Baby Devine (however, the company states that 7 spots have been filled so far).
