Kharma: WWE Release Was a “Good Idea”

Ex-WWE Diva Kharma, real name Kia Stevens, recently opened up to Diva Dirt about her shocking release from the company, surprisingly suggesting it was a “good idea”.

The former Awesome Kong explained in a recent interview that after she made her one-night return to the WWE at January’s Royal Rumble pay per view, the ball was in her court in regards to her permanent return.

Speaking of the time after her return in the Royal Rumble match, she said: “How quickly I was returning was more up to me than the office. I know that comment opens up great interpretation but at that point, from then on in, it was more up to me about how and when I was going to return.”

And when questioned if she was perhaps not ready to return full-time at that point, the former TNA Knockouts Champion added: “I think that with the events that had transpired months prior [suffering a miscarriage], you know, you can want and wish to be back and even try to fool yourself that you are ready to be back but there’s a mourning process that you just have to go through and work through and again, the timing just wasn’t there.”

A slightly cryptic Kharma went on to say that while she tweeted a picture of herself working out in the gym for her eventual return, her release from WWE earlier this year may have been the right move.

“Some things weren’t progressing as quickly as they could have been and I think that the release was actually a really good idea and very appropriate.”

Since leaving the WWE, Stevens has resumed wrestling under her classic moniker, Amazing Kong and recently headlined SHINE’s 5th iPPV.
