First Ever SHINE Champion Crowned

Tonight at SHINE 11, Rain stood alone, besting 13 other women to become the first ever SHINE Champion.

In the culmination of an epic night that saw the entirety of the tournament run its course, Rain faced Mia Yim in the finals.

When VP of Talent Relations Lexie Fyfe banned Rain’s Valkyrie team members Ivelisse and April Hunter from ringside, Rain’s chances seemed to diminish. However, a well-timed Rain Drop took down Mia long enough for Rain to get the decisive pin.

Rain, who has said she will retire at the end of the year, used any and all means necessary to get to this spot, cheating to win matches and getting to the finals via a count out.

When all was said and done, though, she was able to get the job done herself and stood tall alongside Ivelisse and April Hunter to close SHINE 11.

Stay tuned for an in-depth review of SHINE 11.
