Britt Baker pulled from Double or Nothing match due to injury

AEW’s second annual Double or Nothing pay-per-view is moving forward this weekend on May 23. The event is set to host two women’s matches. The first is for the AEW Women’s World Title where the champion Nyla Rose defends against Hikaru Shida. However, this news is about the other women’s match that is scheduled which is Britt Baker taking on Kris Statlander. Baker will no longer be in this match.

This past week on Dynamite a tag team match took place between Rose and Baker who teamed up against face Shida and Statlander. The moment where the injury occurred was actually when Rose was launched by her opponents on top of her teammate in the corner. When she landed you can clearly see she landed squarely on the leg of Baker.

It is believed that the injury is to her ACL, but this has not been confirmed just yet. AEW states that the status of Baker will be announced tomorrow at the event. She will be replaced in the match by Penelope Ford who will now face Statlander. We will still get two women’s matches at the event.
