2. Thunder Rosa
Thunder Rosa had a most excellent 2020. She started the year by winning the International Princess Championship in Tokyo Joshi Pro while an integral part of NWA’s women’s division where she became the NWA Women’s World Champion at Hard Times in an incredible match with Allysin Kay.
Like the rest of the independent wrestlers on the scene, Rosa was unable to wrestle from March to July but when she came back she came with a vengeance. Rosa burst on the scene when she shockingly appeared on AEW with the NWA title and challenged Hikaru Shida for a match at All Out. In a matter of minutes, Rosa did more for AEW’s women’s division that the company had done in a year. From that point on she made herself and the NWA women’s title the central focus of women’s wrestling.
In just a few months Thunder Rosa has become the biggest name in women’s wrestling. Rosa is an exceptional wrestler. Her legitimate, technical and hard-hitting style make her a can’t miss star. But her insatiable hustle and grind to take her name and women’s wrestling as a whole to new heights is an equally remarkable skill in her impressive repertoire.
