Paige vs. Natalya – NXT (Dec. 4, 2013)
If you’ve noticed a pattern throughout this list, it’s that Paige worked a lot of matches in her early years with WWE where she elevated lesser opponents. Natalya was the first chance for her to face someone who could be considered an equal or better.
The third-generation Hart Dungeon alum put her to the test in her second title defense, and the Diva of Tomorrow proved she could hang with her. They wrestled a great match. Paige came out of it looking like a competent champion, who was ready grapple with a main roster stalwart like Natalya.
This match was one of the bright spots of her 274-day reign as NXT Women’s Champion, and it helped to reinforce her run with the brand.
