Ahead of Battleground tomorrow night, we’re taking a look back at memorable Diva moments from the history of the Pay-Per-View.
Today, we’re going back to 2013, when AJ Lee defended the Divas Championship against Brie Bella.
AJ had the entire cast of Total Divas against her following her explosive “Pipebomshell” promo, but it was Brie who emerged from a Fatal Four-Way at Night of Champions to challenge AJ again. AJ, meanwhile, had recently enlisted Tamina Snuka as her bodyguard, giving her an even greater edge against Brie and her injured sister Nikki.
In the end, Nikki became a liability for Brie, being attacked by Tamina and drawing her sister’s attention away from the match. This provided an opening for AJ, who rolled up Brie for a surprise pin and retained the Divas Title.
