Ronda Rousey: “I’d Love to Have the Chance” to Win Divas Championship

Despite recent setbacks, Ronda Rousey still hopes to compete in a WWE ring one day, setting her sights firmly on the Divas Title.

At a press conference for her fight at UFC 193, Rousey spoke about her future goals, expressing her hope to win world championships in boxing and jiu-jitsu as well as the WWE’s Divas Championship:

“What I would love to do, I got an Olympic medal, I would want to retire from MMA as one of the greatest of all time, I would love to have the chance to be the boxing world champion, and I would love to have the chance to be a jiu-jitsu world champion. I’d love to have the chance to be the Divas world champion and just be the best of everything at one point.”

She recognized that she’ll have to figure out how to accomplish all of that, given her crowded schedule:

“How that is possible to do, I’m going to have to figure that out but I am trying to figure that out. I think if anybody’s capable, I think that I am. I think it’s just a matter of prioritizing and timing and figuring out when I can do which, when. I’m figuring it out. I’d love to, but it’s a process.”

Current Divas Champion Charlotte welcomed the challenge, tweeting Ronda:

Triple H also responded, offering to “leave the light on” at the WWE Performance Center:

It will be a while before she has time to step back in a WWE ring, as she is set to star in the Road House remake and has plans to bring her autobiography My Fight/Your Fight to the big screen. She recently debunked rumors of a WrestleMania 32 appearance, citing scheduling conflicts with the filming of the movie Mile 22.

Ronda makes her seventh straight Women’s Bantamweight Championship defense at UFC 193 on November 14th.
