Nikki Bella underwent successful neck surgery this morning.
Her sister Brie delivered the good news on Twitter, noting that the former Divas Champion was sleeping soundly:

The surgery, which was announced earlier this week, was described in detail by Nikki in a WWE.com interview:
“I have a pretty badly herniated disc in my C-6 and C-7. And, on Wednesday, I will be getting surgery. We are hoping that a bone fusion will fix this injury, which makes mine a little more complicated than others [because] a piece of my disc is behind my vertebrae. We are hoping we can go around the vertebrae and fish it out, but we won’t know until I’m out of surgery on Wednesday.”
Nikki was joined by her sister Brie, their brother JJ and John Cena, who provided updates on social media:

As noted, Nikki still spend the next three months in a neck brace and won’t step into a ring for six months. She’ll eventually be evaluated to see if her bone healed properly enough for her to continue an in-ring career.
