Tonight at WrestleMania 32, a new Women’s Champion was crowned.
Divas Champion Charlotte became the first woman to hold the new Women’s Championship when she defeated Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks in a Triple Threat match that served to usher in a new era for the WWE’s women’s division.
Charlotte would win the match thanks to a familiar strategy: using her father, Ric Flair. The WWE Hall of Famer kept Sasha indisposed as Becky found herself trapped in the Figure Eight. The Lass Kicker, stranded in the center of the ring, had no choice but to tap out.
The match that preceded this moment was full of WrestleMania moments. Though the action was fast in the ring, moments outside the ring made an impact too, from Sasha hitting Charlotte with a senton and Becky diving out on Ric Flair to Charlotte hitting a moonsault on both Becky and Sasha on the outside.

Dis-arm-hers and Bank Statements couldn’t get the job done, though, and in the end it was the Figure Eight that allowed the champ to stay the champ – albiet with the new title.
