More information has been revealed about a women’s wrestling comedy coming soon to Netflix.
Just a pilot project when we first reported on it, GLOW – based on the 1980’s wrestling promotion “GLOW: Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling” – has now been picked up by Netflix, and the first season ordered will be ten episodes long, that’s according to The Wrap.
Jenji Kohan, creator of Orange Is The New Black and Weeds will Executive Produce, with Liz Flahive (Homeland) and Carly Mensch (OINTB), acting as showrunners. New details released today confirm that Tara Herrmann, the Executive Producer of OITNB will also act as an EP alongside Kohan.
“Big hair and body slams” have been promised as a story is told about an out-of-work actress who tries out for GLOW as a last chance to pursue her dream in showbusiness.
