Tonight on Monday Night Raw, for the first time in over ten years, a women’s title match served as the show’s main event. The last time two women main event an episode of Raw for the Women’s title were Trish Stratus and Lita back in December 2004.
Keeping her word from last week, Charlotte defended her Raw Women’s title against challenger Sasha Banks.
Pre-match there was hype video package highlighting the rivalry between both Superstars, dating back to the BFF NXT days to their WrestleMania 32 match to when Sasha won her first Raw Women’s championship to SummerSlam.

Dana Brooke was taken out of the picture prior to the match after Bayley attacked her following bully antics from both Charlotte and Dana.
Charlotte relied on submissions to wear down Sasha’s back after tossing her tossing the outside barricade and knocking her off the top rope turnbuckle.
Sasha would begin to mount a comeback, countering out the champion with a running head scissor and nearly picking up the gold mid-match after hitting a big double knee shot from the top rope.

After enduring a high flying corkscrew dive, two cornered big boots and Natural Selection, Sasha would capture the gold again by forcing Charlotte to tap out to the Bank Statement after reversing Charlotte’s pin attempts.
