The Rock is known for his heavy influence on both the film and professional wrestling industry. With the ‘Fast & Furious’ franchise and the upcoming ‘Baywatch’ film in his resume, he’s adding yet another project in his books. And this time, it will be based around WWE’s very own, Paige!
In an Instagram post uploaded today, the former WWE champion announced that he came across the former Divas champion in 2012 when he stumbled upon a documentary about her family. In the same post he announced that alongside Seven Bucks Productions, Film 4 and WWE Studios he will be producing a film based on the young talent’s journey and family.
He felt that he could somewhat relate to the Brit, and that the touching story regarding her family resonated with him.
Casting announcements have already hit the rounds, with Pro Wrestling Sheet revealing that Florence Pugh (The Falling, 2014) will be portraying the WWE Superstar in the project.
The last time we saw the British wrestler on our TV screens was on the June 27th edition of Monday Night RAW. Here she teamed with the Boss Sasha Banks to defeat the team of RAW Women’s champion Charlotte Flair and her “apprentice” Dana Brooke.
