WWE started cleaning house today with the release of Emma and now the company is parting ways with Summer Rae.

WWE released this statement about the situation:
“WWE has come to terms on the releases of WWE Superstars Emma, Darren Young and Summer Rae. WWE wishes them the best in all of their future endeavors.”
Summer Rae has been out of action since sustaining an injury in the summer of 2016.
Her last televised wrestling appearance was on Superstars on July 22nd, 2016. Fortunately Rae managed to overcome Alicia Fox in their single bout.
Summer was spotted training alongside Emma in recent months, and was also allegedly cleared to wrestle, despite not appearing on WWE television since 2016.
Despite not appearing on television, Summer took things in her own hands, appearing on multiple different magazine covers and on Maxim‘s hot 100 list.
Summer and Emma, along with Paige, originally kicked off a renewed focus on the women’s division when they were both in NXT. As the First Lady of NXT, she created the BFFs, recruiting both Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks, leading them to numerous victories over other women in the division in 2014.
