WWE confirms All Women’s Evolution PPV event

After teasing that she would make a “historic announcement”, Stephanie McMahon returned to Monday Night Raw to confirm the rumors of WWE will be holding an all women’s event this fall.

At the start of tonight’s Monday Night Raw (July 23rd), Superstars from Raw, SmackDown, NXT and 205 Live all reunited to hear the announcement. After being introduced by her father and WWE Chairman Vince McMahon, Stephanie McMahon took a moment to celebrate the WWE Evolution and noted that history was on the horizon was once again with a PPV titled Evolution, which will feature over 50 women:

“Because of all of you, men and women using your voices for change, we are able to provide the platform to show the world that women can do anything and be anything they want to be. Because of all of you, we are able to stand here and make another first-ever announcement. On October 28, over 50 women, then, now and forever, will participate in an event called Evolution, and that event — I am privileged to announce — will be the first-ever all-women’s pay-per-view.”

WWE Executive Vice President, Talent, Live Events & Creative Triple H also echoed these sentiments:

“Three years ago, our fans demanded a change with the hashtag, #GiveDivasAChance, and an evolution started. Since that time, our female Superstars have over-delivered in every opportunity presented to them, and I expect nothing different during our first-ever all-women’s pay-per-view event.”

On top of holding the finals of Mae Young Classic II, Evolution will also feature four Women’s Title matches, which include the Raw, Smackdown, NXT and NXT UK Women’s Titles. The NXT UK Women’s Champions will be determined during NXT’s upcoming tapings. PWInsider notes that current names scheduled for these tapings include Toni Storm, Jinny, Charlie Morgan, Rhea Ripley, Tegan Nox and Dakota Kai.

Tickets for WWE Evolution, which will be hosted at the Nassau Coliseum in Long Island, NY, will be available Friday, August 24, at 10 a.m on Ticket Master.
