AEW’s Double or Nothing will be taking place tonight with two women’s matches on the card.
First, Jade Cargill will defend her undefeated streak and the TBS Title against Taya Valkyrie. The first match between the two was won by Cargill when Valkyrie was banned to use the Road to Valhalla.
The AEW Women’s World Title is also on the line where Jamie Hayter defends against Toni Storm. Hayter and Britt Baker have been in a feud with the Outcasts for months. Hayter is going into this match with a legit injury she has been dealing with for a month.
Here are our predictions:
Jade Cargill (c) vs. Taya Valkyrie
TBS Championship
NICK – This is an odd one because on one hand I don’t know why Taya is getting another shot if she doesn’t win. AEW is used to just throwing together a match so interesting that they continued with this storyline. There’s the buzz on if Kris Statlander will return tonight and to be honest them waiting for Statlander’s return to dethrone Jade is completely crazy to me. If she does return she could cost Jade the match, her title, and undefeated streak.
WINNER: Taya Valkyrie
COLBY – I was excited for this feud, but AEW lost my interest after Taya lost her first title shot. The storytelling has also dipped off since then, but the rematch is officially on. Personally, I’m tired of waiting for this potential Kris Statlander return that everyone thinks is going to save us from Jade’s never-ending reign. And I love Jade. But it’s beyond time to move on and freshen up the division.
WINNER: Taya Valkyrie
GARY – I hope these women get to silence some naysayers this weekend, the feud hasn’t been stellar and it is not helping Cargill at all as champion, I do think her reign has also run its course but I don’t think Valkyrie is ending it. Cargill gets the victory and goes 60 – 0.
WINNER: Jade Cargill
Jamie Hayter (c) vs. Toni Storm
AEW Women’s World Champion
NICK – With Hayter’s injury is is logical that she won’t get this win. I have also heard some buzz that after this match there will be some change to the women’s division whatever that will mean. I think Storm will take it and become the first woman to be a two time champ.
WINNER: Toni Storm
COLBY – There seem to be doubts over whether or not Hayter will even be able to defend, which is quite unfortunate. But if Hayter is good to go, I expect nothing short of another banger. This time, though, I’m going to go with Storm. We’ll see if The Outcasts help her get it it done or not.
WINNER: Toni Storm
GARY – This reign has been so unfair to Hayter, she has been overshadowed constantly in this Outcast feud and still been a side character Britt Baker (at least in my opinion). Add in her injury recently and it makes me believe we will get a title change here with Storm bringing the gold to The Outcasts. Storm gets to right the wrong that was her (corrected in post) interim reign as Women’s Champion and Hayter gets to heal up. Regardless, I firmly believe that Hayter deserved better.
WINNER: Toni Storm
