Hartford, Connecticut publication The Courant has provided an update on Emma‘s arrest yesterday for sixth degree larceny.
The Courant, via Emma’s lawyer Hubert Santos, reports that Emma appeared in court today and was sentenced to community service.
Her lawyer also says the theft was a mistake, stemming from an error in using Walmart’s self-checkout lane. Santos says she purchased $30 worth of items but forgot to pay for either an iPod or iPad case.

UPDATE: The Hartford Police Department has released statement, confirming that the item she was charged with stealing was a $20 iPad case:
“On June 30, 2014 at approximately 1:00pm, Hartford Police Officers were contacted by Walmart Security (asset protection) Officers regarding a potential Larceny/shoplifter. Based on the investigation by HPD, Tenille A. Dashwood, 25, of Australia and Winter Park Fl. was arrested and charged with Larceny in the 6th degree, with a referral to the Hartford Community Court. Dashwood was booked at HPD and issued a WPTA. The unpaid item for which the larceny charge was applied was an “iHome ‘Slim Swivel’ iPad mini case” color red with a value of $21.14.”
Additionally, PWInsider is reporting that upon completion of her community service and an online course, Emma’s arrest and sixth-degree larceny charge will be thrown out.
