Every hour until the clock strikes midnight (Eastern time) and we usher in 2015, Diva Dirt will highlight – in no particular order – the women who made an impact in 2014.
Natalya
Natalya is clearly one of the top Divas of the Divas division. It’s incredible that just a few years ago she was farting her away around the locker room and is now considered one of the most glamorous WWE Divas and the Queen of Selfies.
Nattie kicked off her 2014 by engaging in a series of battles over the Divas Championship with then Champion, AJ Lee. Nattie and AJ even had the longest Divas Championship match to date in March, the women went in the ring for over 14 minutes. In WWE Divas time, that is a lifetime.
Natalya was also one of 13 Divas to participate in the Vickie Guerrero Invitational at WrestleMania XXX over the Divas Championship. Although unsuccessful, Nattie continued to compete at her absolute best in the Divas division…as well as down in NXT.
Proving she is a ring leader, Natalya spent some time down in Florida working with the talented women of NXT and participating the tournament for the vacant NXT Women’s Championship. The finals came down to Charlotte and Natalya and the match shocked the world. Despite losing to Charlotte, Nattie put on one of her best matches of her entire career and the match has even been listed on several lists as a “must see” match.
Outside of the ring, Nattie was stealing the show on Total Divas from her turbulent relationship with husband Tyson Kidd, to chaperoning the wild Rosa Mendes and even getting in roadside catfights with Summer Rae.
Closing out 2014, Natalya is perched as seemingly the top contender for the Divas Title. Will she be successful in her quest or will her husband get in the way? We’re hoping big things are on the horizon for Natalya…maybe even an Intergender match with Tyson Kidd.
