Women of the Year 2014: Renee Young

Every hour until the clock strikes midnight (Eastern time) and we usher in 2015, Diva Dirt will highlight – in no particular order – the women who made an impact in 2014.

Renee Young

She may not be an in-ring competitor but Renee Young certainly grabbed our attention this year without even having to take a bump.

Young quickly began garnering attention from the fans for her work as a commentator on NXT. Her style was so fresh, something completely different and interesting unlike the ramblings we’ve heard from the three commentators on Raw. The internet community began praising the WWE’s latest female announcer.

Renee also worked on the main roster as a backstage correspondent by interviewing some of the WWE’s top stars and even found herself sandwiched between the man breasts of Evolution. With her comedic timing and professionalism on point, WWE knew they had to do something more with the blonde beauty.

In July, it was announced that Renee Young would be joining Tom Phillips full time as a commentator on WWE Superstars. This is the first time a woman has been placed in that role and Young has been owning the position ever since.

Continuing her memorable interviews and delightful color commentary throughout WWE, we’re looking forward to seeing Young have a successful 2015…maybe even see her get involved in a storyline.

Come back at the top of every hour to see who else has been crowned one of 2014’s Women of the Year.
