This Sunday at WrestleMania 31, Brie and Nikki Bella team up to take on AJ Lee and Paige.
All week leading up to the big night, we’re revisiting the most memorable women’s wrestling moments in WrestleMania’s 31 year history, tackling a total of 25 WrestleManias.
WrestleMania XX
March 14th, 2004
At the twentieth WrestleMania, two Divas matches and one heel turn made for one of the most unforgettable WrestleManias yet.
First, Sable and Torrie Wilson celebrated their combo Playboy cover in what was advertised as a Playboy Evening Gown match against Miss Jackie and Stacy Keibler. However, all the Divas stripped down to their underwear at the very start, making it more of a Lingerie match. Torrie won the bout for her team with a roll-up on Jackie.
In a drastically different kind of gimmick match, Victoria put the Women’s Title on the line against Molly Holly in a Hair vs. Title match. Molly’s loss meant that she had to get her head shaved, and Victoria did the honors, strapping Molly in a barber’s chair and disposing of her locks.
Finally, in what was perhaps the night’s most memorable moment, Trish Stratus turned heel, betraying Chris Jericho in the middle of his match with Christian and setting him up for a loss. With a single slap, Trish went from one of the most beloved Divas to the most hated.
