Slammiversary Rewind: Angelina Love vs. Gail Kim for the Knockouts Title (2014)

Ahead of Slammiversary tonight, we’re taking a look back at memorable Knockout moments from the history of the Pay-Per-View.

Today, we’re going back to 2014, when Knockouts Champion Angelina Love put the title on the line against Gail Kim.

Angelina had won the belt from Madison Rayne at Sacrifice, fresh off her TNA return, and was intent on staying atop the division. If having Velvet Sky at ringside wasn’t enough, the challenger Gail also had to contend with referee Brian Stiffler, who had shown a clear bias for the Beautiful People.

Earl Hebner soon take care of both of those problems, tossing Velvet from ringside and subbing in for Stiffler. However, a sequence of events still put Gail on the losing end, Gail accidentally taking out Hebner and opening the door for Angelina (and Stiffler) to steal the win and extend her Knockouts Title reign.
