From their in-ring abilities to their unique personalities, we aim to spotlight some of the upcoming female talent that you may not yet know about. Each day until Christmas Eve, we will unveil the names that the Diva Dirt staff have handpicked.
ONE TO WATCH: NICOLE SAVOY
Who is she?: Nicole Savoy, the self-proclaimed “Bay Area Bad Girl”, first stepped inside a ring in 2011, but it wasn’t until 2015 that she really started making waves. Her height and strength are apparent at first glance, but her grappling skills and catalog of suplexes are just as dangerous. Nicole wrestles women and men alike, all the while demonstrating a toughness that few can match. If there’s such a thing a wrestling “total package”, Nicole’s well on her way to becoming one.

Her story so far: Though Nicole made her wrestling debut back in 2011, she didn’t start performing regularly until 2014, when she made her mark in PWR, AWS and FSP. She also debuted for SHIMMER that year, impressing so much that, the following spring, she made it to the semifinals of the SHIMMER 71 ChickFight Tournament. This fall, in just her third SHIMMER weekend, Nicole received a shot at Nicole Matthews‘s SHIMMER Championship. Though she fell short there, her rapid advancement to the upper echelons of SHIMMER puts her in rare company.

Why we chose her: Nicole is easily one of the most promising SHIMMER newcomers, her unique combination of size and agility helping her stand out from the pack. Her series of matches with men are far from gimmicky, serving to demonstrate her skill and toughness rather than exploit her size. All around, her matches are quickly reaching “must see” territory for any wrestling fan. If Nicole’s 2015 was any indication, her 2016 will be a thing to behold.
