Today at NXT TakeOver: London, Bayley did what no other woman has done yet: defeat Nia Jax.
Nia seemed poised to claim Bayley’s Women’s Title throughout the match, beating down the champ and taking her to her limit. Ever the resilient underdog, though, Bayley persevered, buoyed by the crowd’s chants and infectious energy.
Again and again, Bayley attempted to take Nia off her feet with attacks, but ultimately was only able to do so with a desperate guillotine choke. Even so, it took multiple attempts for the choke to take the imposing Nia off of her feet.
When Nia was finally taken to the mat, it was all over for her. After a few moments of futile fighting, she submitted, allowing Bayley to overcome the odds once more and retain the NXT Women’s Championship.
