WWE Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon appeared on this morning’s Rachael Ray Show, discussing the importance of the female roles within the WWE, playing a villain on television and more.
When discussing the process of playing a heel, Stephanie recounted how she paid a visit to a children’s hospital to announce the WWE’s new partnership for Connor’s Cure and then that night went on television to play her villainous character. She says a business associate had to ask someone if she was the same woman who was hugging sick children earlier that day.
Stephanie reveals the 40% of the WWE’s viewership is female, which she credits their team and the success of Total Divas with drawing in. She explains that the Divas are more than just wrestlers: they do public speaking, make appearances on television, make film cameos, attend red carpet events and do community service activities.
When asked if her husband Triple H would agree with her belief that women are tougher than men, she says he absolutely would.
