Brie Bella‘s retirement may be imminent.
Pro Wrestling Sheet is reporting that the former Divas Champion will officially retire after this year’s post-WrestleMania Raw.
The report notes that Brie’s decision to retire earlier than expected is connected to her husband Daniel Bryan‘s health issues, which recently forced him to pull out of scheduled WWE appearances. She is expected to take on an ambassador role for the WWE, continuing to appear on Total Divas and WWE Network programming but no longer competing in the ring.
Brie acknowledged that her time as a wrestler was coming to an end in an interview with Good Morning America last month. At that time, she estimated that she would retire in the summer, but this new report indicates that the timetable for her departure has been moved up.
Brie is scheduled to compete in a 10-Diva Tag Team match at WrestleMania 32 on April 3rd. If this report is correct, her retirement would begin after Raw the following night.
