In the latest episode of TNA’s “My First Day” YouTube series, McKenzie Mitchell sits down with Brandi Rhodes to discuss her current TNA run, transitioning from ring announcer to wrestler, future aspirations and more. Highlights of the interview below.

On how it feels to be in TNA: “It feels very different but different in a good way. It’s a very different role for me, whole different setting, meeting all new people, you guys are all very nice so that’s a plus. So yeah, it’s been very fun so far.”

On making her entrance as a wrestler for the first time: “You know, I was really excited at first but it’s definitely a different feeling than ring announcing. Ring announcing I’ve done it for so long that didn’t really have to think much about it, just you know, got into routine and did it but it’s really cool to be able to interact with the fans now. That’s something that a ring announcer is not really supposed to do, so if I ever did that to you, I was not trying to be mean or anything, I just wasn’t supposed to do that. So now I’m able to interact and enjoy the fans more and give high fives and take pictures, it’s great.”

On what she would like to accomplish as a TNA Knockout: “I think as a Knockout, I feel like I have a lot of responsibilities. The last name Rhodes is a huge last name. I don’t take it lightly at all. I’m proud to bear it. So with that comes expectations and just a lot of build, so I think I have to do my family proud in that sense and do the right things, be the right kind of Knockout. Maybe not let things go to my head, kind of like Maria but aside from that I really would love to get a shot down the road here at the Knockouts championship. I think it would be nice to show that you can go from doing one thing to another and you can be successful, you just got to take a chance.”
