At Wrestlemania 33, we shall see Nikki Bella and John Cena take on Maryse and The Miz in a mixed tag match! And with this being the first in-ring contest that the Sexiest of Sexy will be take part in since 2011, Mrs Mizanin is definitely under a lot of pressure.
Maryse recently sat down with the Orlando Sentinel to discuss her upcoming match. Below are the highlights:
When asked about getting the opportunity to compete alongside her husband, Maryse said: “at WrestleMania, with my husband, in the same ring, the same match? If you had asked me if that was possible five years ago, I would have laughed in your face. Now it’s really happening.”
“We’re just a good couple,” Maryse said when asked about her chemistry with husband The Miz. “We complement each other really well, help each other 24-7 and have a really good time. Playing our characters – I mean, we come from Hollywood, so we’ve got that. We don’t think twice, we just do it.”
With this being her most high-profile match to date, Maryse said that she had “so many emotions.” regarding it. “I’m excited,” she continued. “I can’t wait, but I do have some butterflies. … I’ve proved in the past that I can accomplish big things, but I’m coming back so people can see what I can do.”
In regards to her training, Maryse was anything but unconfident. “Let’s just say, I’m good,” She stated. “Nikki should be scared.”
She was then asked about what it’s like to work with the WWE, and she boasted about how much passion she has for the job. “I love playing a character,” she started. “When I see fans in the street or at meet-and-greets, it’s great. Sometimes they want me to be that person they see on TV, take a picture with a hand in their face or ask me to ‘be mean like you do.’ But I can’t play that character 24-7. Before I cross in front of the curtain [at WWE shows], I flip a switch and become that Maryse. There’s no career like it.”
Maryse will compete alongside her husband The Miz at Wrestlemania on April 2nd on the WWE Network!
