With recent additions to the Raw and SmackDown roster, rumors are abound with the possibility of a Women’s Royal Rumble Match in 2018.
Reports are at odds with each other at the moment. The Sun is reporting that the influx of talent will lead to up to the historic first-ever women’s Rumble match on January 28 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. But the publication is light on further details.
And another statement by The Observer contradicts that report as Dave Meltzer said WWE isn’t planning it just yet, though it’s possible in the future.
If WWE isn’t planning a Women’s Royal Rumble it’s also being rumored that the recent NXT call-ups to the main roster are part of Paige‘s invasion story line and not preparation for a Royal Rumble come January.
Per Cageside Seats, the company has discussed revealing Paige as the leader of the NXT call-ups who invaded SmackDown last Tuesday, in addition to fronting the Absolution stable on Raw.
What do you think? Is WWE making room for a Women’s Royal Rumble? Is Paige the leader of all the new NXT recruits? Sound off in the comments below.
