SHIMMER 100 Preview

This weekend, SHIMMER – WOMEN ATHLETES will present their milestone event SHIMMER 100 during WrestleMania weekend at the Pontchartrain Center (4545 Williams Blvd.) in Kenner, LA. Bell time is 4:00PM CDT.

First off, the SHIMMER Championship will be on the line when the current Champion Nicole Savoy takes on the two-time SHIMMER Champion and SHIMMER original Mercedes Martinez. These two have a history with each other, going back to when they formed Trifecta with current NXT Star Shayna Baszler in 2016. As Shayna left for greener pastures, Mercedes tried to continue Trifecta by adding the legendary Aja Kong. That rubbed Nicole the wrong way, and she left the group and defeated her former Trifecta partner to become SHIMMER Champion. Here’s some facts: Nicole is the third women’s wrestler based in California to win the SHIMMER Championship; the other two were current WWE PC Assistant Coach and SHIMMER original Sara Del Rey who won the gold in a tournament in 2007, The other was Cheerleader Melissa (Another SHIMMER Original) when she beat Madison Eagles in 2011. She’s also the fourth woman from the West Coast to win the championship if you add the previous two and Nicole Matthews, who won the SHIMMER Championship in a Four-Way Dance in 2014. Can Nicole Savoy prove to her former Trifecta partner that she’s the best out there or will Mercedes make it three SHIMMER Championships to her credit?

Another match to look out for is the SHIMMER Tag Team Championship match when Leva Bates and Delilah Doom take on the team of LuFisto and Hudson Envy. After winning the Tag Team Championship late last year, Leva and Delilah have been on fire as a unit, but the team will have their hands full against LuFisto and Hudson Envy. Will this scrappy tag team come out on top or will we see new champions?

Reigning Heart Of SHIMMER Champion Shazza McKenzie will defend her championship against third generation wrestler Tessa Blanchard, one of the best women’s wrestlers today. While Tessa had a rollercoaster year last year, considering that she’s a former SHIMMER Tag Team Champion and current WrestleCircus Lady of the Ring Champion, Shazza has been on a roll. Can Shazza continue her ride as the Heart of SHIMMER Champion or will Tessa add another belt to her resume?

Plus, Cheerleader Melissa, Shotzi Blackheart, Madison Eagles, Deonna Purrazzo, Nicole Matthews, Mia Yim, the debut of Toni Storm, the return of Kimber Lee and more all in one place.

For those who cannot attend the live event at the Pontchartrain Center, you can still see all of the action live on iPPV! Information on how to order SHIMMER 100 as an iPPV can be found at WWNLive.com. You can also catch the matches individually on ClickWrestle.
