Coming off of the Backlash PPV, the locker room is getting ready for the much anticipated Money in the Bank PPV. Carmella retained her championship at Backlash, and she can attribute a major part of her victory to Frankie (her money in the bank briefcase). Carmella was the first (well after James Ellsworth), woman to ever hold a Money In the Bank briefcase. She is also one of only five women to have had the privilege to participate in this male dominated match.
This year, thanks to PPVs being co-branded, any woman from either brand has a chance to compete in the MITB Ladder match. Last night on RAW, Ember Moon secured her spot when she defeated both Sasha Banks and Ruby Riott in a triple threat match. Tonight on Smackdown, Charlotte Flair will take on Peyton Royce to qualify for their chance to be in the match-up.
