NXT Discussion Post: August 22nd, 2018

Tonight’s post TakeOver: Brooklyn IV edition of NXT will feature both an in ring return and a television debut. NXT newcomer and Mae Young Classic II competitor Deonna Purrazo will go head to head with the returning Bianca Belair. WWE announced a month ago that Deonna was one of the latest individuals to be signed to a contract. Coming off of her involvement in the second Mae Young Classic, Purazzo looks to continue making a name for herself by making her first appearance on NXT televison this evening.

One month ago it was also reported that Bianca Belair had suffered an injury. This injury prevented Belair from competing in the match to determine a number one contender for then champion Shayna Baszler. Bianca promised everyone that she would come back better and stronger. Her progress was documented last week, as footage of her training at the Performance Center aired. After losing her spot in the number one contender’s match and missing over a month of action, Belair is determined to remind everyone why she is the EST of NXT.

WWE.com wrote the following for tonight’s match up:

“Bianca Belair will return to action after being temporarily sidelined by injury when she takes on new NXT signee and upcoming Mae Young Classic competitor Deonna Purrazzo on WWE NXT. Prior to her injury, Belair had been on an incredibly dominant streak that has yet to see her lose in singles competition. Purrazzo will look to put the first L in The EST’s loss column and garner pivotal momentum heading into the upcoming Mae Young Classic. Will The Virtuosa best Belair in Brooklyn?”
