For months now speculation has emerged regarding the reintroduction of Women’s Tag Team Titles.
WrestlingNews.co is reporting that, “It was confirmed to us over the weekend that an announcement is coming soon and the plan is to crown Women’s Tag Team Champions at the Evolution pay-per-view.”
According to the site, “women from all brands, including NXT, will be involved. Two weeks ago we were told that there would be a tournament held on WWE programming with the finals taking place on 10/26. A second source confirmed this to us over the weekend. This is why they’ve been featuring more teams featuring women on Raw and Smackdown Live in recent weeks.”
However, Twitter user BeltFanDan, an insider who creates custom belts for promotions, said, “Last I heard, was they want to announce the Women’s Tag’s on the Evolution pre-show, which makes absolutely no sense to me.”

The news my original tweet is not belt related, but beltmaker related.

Earlier this year WWE teased introducing the Women’s Tag Titles by highlighting dominate tag teams in the division. The Bellas have been in action as a tag team on Raw, along with The Riott Squad, and Sasha Banks (prior to her current injury) and Bayley were racking up wins recently against other teams.
On SmackDown Naomi has formed a partnership with Asuka against the IIconics and Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville are still teaming together.
This is a developing story and we’ll update with more news as it breaks.
