Chyna passed away on April 20, 2016, at the age of 46, from what the initial police reports called an accidental overdose.
Now, Chyna’s mom, Jan LaQue, went to Facebook to implore WWE to consider inducting the “Ninth Wonder of the World” into the WWE Hall of Fame.
LaQue isn’t the only one calling on WWE to give Chyna her due. Sean “X-Pac” Waltman went to Twitter to remember Chyna and her gift to wrestling fans.
Chyna left a legacy in wrestling that no one has been able to duplicate, since.
She was one of the founding members of D-Generation X, the only female to hold the WWF Intercontinental Championship, held the WWF Women’s Championship once, and was the first woman to compete in a Royal Rumble match or King of the Ring tournament.
Chyna cemented intergender wrestling on the main rosters, by competing against Triple H, Kurt Angle, Chris Jericho and Jeff Jarrett. She’s even competed in NJPW and TNA.
The 2019 WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place Apr. 5 in Brooklyn, at the Barclays Center.
