It appears that Ring of Honor’s Karen Q and Mae Young Classic Tournament standout Rachael Ellering are on their way to Orlando.
As reported by Wrestling Inc., Ellering and Karen Q are two of the newest WWE Performance Center signees slated to start training in early February.
Ellering was a 2015 graduate from the Storm Academy who made her way through the indie ranks, most notably at SHINE Wrestling against Tessa Blanchard, before signing with NXT.
During 2016 and 2017, Ellering faced Alexa Bliss, Liv Morgan (as Rachael Fazio), Ember Moon and Sonya Deville in losing bouts, before moving on from NXT. During this same time period, Ellering made a few appearances at Impact Wrestling.
Ellering entered the 2017 Mae Young Classic under the name Rachel Evers, defeated Marti Belle in the first round, and was eliminated by Abbey Laith during the second round.
Under the name Evers once again, Ellering entered the 2018 Mae Young Classic, this time being defeated by the vicious Hiroyo Matsumoto during the first round.
Ellering is currently in a relationship with NXT star Kassius Ohno, which could play a part in Ellering’s storyline, if she joins the NXT roster.
Former gymnast and diving competitor Karen Q spent time at Victory Pro Wrestling, Women’s Wrestling Revolution, Beyond Wrestling, RISE and took part in the Super 8 ChickFight Tournament before making her way to ROH. At ROH, Karen Q had losing efforts in various title bouts and competed in the 2018 Women of Honor Championship Tournament, where she was eliminated by Brandi Rhodes.
In another notable moment, Karen Q participated in RISE 9: RISE of the Knockouts, which was co-produced by RISE and Impact. There she teamed with Ray Lyn in a tag team match lost against the Twisted Sisterz.
Karen Q also joined the 2018 Mae Young Classic as a fan favorite, before losing to Kung fu expert Xia Li in the first round.
The announcement of the new signings comes during a time when WWE seems to be making big moves to sign new talent, including the opening of their first international Performance Center in the UK, and the news that Viper would soon be joining the ranks.
