According to today’s report from PWInsider, Candice LeRae may start working SmackDown live events. It is unclear whether she will be called up permanently or WWE just wants to get her used to performing in front of a large crowd. The crowds at NXT are comparable to what she is used to from her past in the indies. Because of that, she may need a bit of time adapting to the size crowds at main roster live events.
LeRae did get her feet wet in front of a huge audience when she was one of the NXT Superstars who appeared in this year’s Women’s Royal Rumble. LeRae was the 17th entrant in the Women’s Rumble and was eventually eliminated by Ruby Riott.
If history prevails, NXT call ups will happen after WrestleMania in April. It is very possible her real life husband, Johnny Gargano, will also head to the main roster. They are often featured in storylines together in NXT. LeRae, who was signed to a contract in January of last year, would be a breath of fresh air to either the SmackDown or Raw rosters.
