At Monday night’s NXT TV taping live from Full Sail University in Florida, Beth Phoenix joined the NXT commentary team.
Recently, Beth reunited with her former partner, Natalya, to reform the Divas of Doom. The team competed on an episode of Monday Night RAW. Then they battled for the Women’s Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania 35. Notably, Pheonix performed an incredible Avalanche Glam Slam, but they still came up short to the IIconics.
Beth has been dabbling in color commentary since 2018. She joined Michael Cole and Corey Graves to call all the action for the inaugural Mixed Match Challenge.
She was also a guest commentator for the Mae Young Classic in 2018, the Women’s Battle Royal at WrestleMania 34, the 2019 Women’s Royal Rumble, and women’s tag title match at Elimination Chamber and Fastlane.
Phoenix joins Nigel McGuinness and Mauro Ranallo, becoming the first woman to commentate on NXT since Renee Young back in 2013.
With the announcement that Phoenix will step back behind the announce desk, it seems her recent stint as an in-ring competitor could be coming to an end. Phoenix hasn’t been seen on RAW in roughly a month.
