As previously reported in June, Mickie James suffered an ACL injury during a match against Carmella at a Live event. Earlier today she had her surgery in order to repair her injury. Her husband, Nick Aldis (also known as Magnus), shared the news on his Twitter that her surgery is over and it was a success.
Prior to surgery, James tweeted out her appreciation for everyone’s well wishes. This surgery could have her out of action for at least up to nine months. In that tweet, she did make note of “if I come back” she would come back “bionic.”
It could be possible that by the time she is able to return her current contract may be up with WWE. She was reported to have signed a multi-year deal in December 2016. At that time multi-year deals generally referred to three years.
During the Superstar Shake-Up after WrestleMania, she was moved to the SmackDown roster. She was unable to make an appearance on the blue brand prior to her injury.
