Renee Young is confirmed to host a new studio show *Updated*

Update: It has been officially announced by WWE the new commentary moves for RAW and SmackDown. Beth Phoenix will stay on NXT with Nigel McGuinness and Mauro Ranallo. Renee Young will be moved with Michael Cole to SmackDown.

As previously rumored, Renee Young will be hosting a new studio show for WWE that will air on FS1. This show will be on Tuesday nights now that SmackDown will be on Friday. The show is being called WWE Backstage and is being listed as television’s only studio show devoted to all things WWE.

Diva Dirt has received a press release in regards to this show and this is what the show is being advertised as:

Longtime WWE broadcaster Renee Young and WWE Hall of Famer Booker T weigh in on the biggest stories in WWE and are joined by a rotating cast of guests and personalities, including current and former WWE Superstars.

WWE Backstage is a wrestling show for wrestling fans. From hardcore fans to people new to wrestling, we’ll give them a little bit of everything,” said Young. “It’s going to be fun, it’s going to be loud, we’re going to give them a ton of opinions and I can’t wait to help spread the word about SmackDown coming to FOX.

Ahead of WWE Backstage’s Nov. 5 debut, FOX Sports offers a special preview of the show on Tuesday, Oct. 15, following the conclusion of the ALCS Game 3 on FS1. Young and Booker T are joined by special guests to reveal the WWE Backstage set at the FOX Studios Lot in Los Angeles, and to break in their brand-new ring. 

Young has been the first full-time female commentator in WWE’s history as she has been featured on RAW. She has held this role for a year since it became official last September.
