Nikki Cross is the number one contender for the SmackDown Women’s Title

On Friday Night SmackDown a Six-Pack Challenge Match delivered as it showcased the newer women to the blue brand such as Nikki Cross, Lacey Evans, and Dana Brooke. They joined Mandy Rose, Sonya Deville, and Carmella to find out who would become the number one contender for the SmackDown Women’s Championship.

The great part of this match was it was refreshing to see the talent that hasn’t been used regularly and also viable contenders for Bayley‘s title. The match did a nice job of showcasing each woman as they hit signature moves or finishers throughout.

Fire & Desire showed why it is always great to have the numbers as a tag team in this type of match where it is normally everybody for themselves. They would spend a decent portion of the match teaming up against Carmella.

In the end, it would be Rose that took the pinfall as Cross hit her patented spinning neck breaker and picked up the win. Carmella may have been the obvious choice to win this match with her being a good friend of Bayley, but Cross has her history with the champion as well.
