Winners & Losers: SmackDown 10/25/19

After the women weren’t used on Monday during RAW it was good to see some women in a match on tonight’s SmackDown. We technically received two matches, although one was a squash match with Lacey Evans taking out a local talent with a Woman’s Right. The second match was the advertised Nikki Cross vs. Mandy Rose.

Although there weren’t a whole lot of women on tonight’s show we can go into the Winners & Losers for this week.

WINNER: Nikki Cross

Cross is the obvious clear winner, although the match did have Mandy Rose on the offense during most of it. She would pick up a win as expected to continue to have her at the top of the potential prospects as she is the number one contender for Bayley‘s title. What made it even better as she continues to pick up wins without Alexa Bliss by her side. Although the team is still together, Cross is able to get the clean victories as her babyface gimmick would expect.

The only thing that personally would have made this better was if there was some more of a physical interaction with Bayley and Sasha Banks who were on commentary. At this time it is unknown when Cross will get her shot at the SmackDown Women’s Champion but it would only make sense to be before Survivor Series. Survivor Series generally has the RAW Champion facing the SmackDown Champion. If that is the case it just makes sense for Becky Lynch vs. Bayley to happen.

LOSER: Lacey Evans

Lacey beating a local talent in a matter of seconds did nothing for her. The only thing that it may have helped was solidifying her as a heel since she did team with Natalya before coming to SmackDown making many confused. This match could have been used to start a new side feud. Lacey vs. Carmella would have made the most sense and could easily be done.

Instead, we as fans get Lacey looking “strong” as if that was needed to do at this moment.

SmackDown for the women was obviously better than RAW this week, but that didn’t take much effort. If Lacey had an actual match with a member of the roster then it would have been a lot more enjoyable. Unfortunately, as we all know the women as a whole are going to continue to take the back seat up to Crown Jewel.

NXT definitely stole the show for the women this week.

They did advertise Becky Lynch vs. Kairi Sane for Monday’s RAW, so that is something to look forward to.
