Shayna Baszler vs. Rhea Ripley made official for NXT Women’s Title

On tonight’s episode of NXT it was made official by Shayna Baszler that she will be defending her title against Rhea Ripley. Although it was already a guarantee that Ripley was the next in line to face Baszler the fans didn’t know when it would happen – until now. Baszler will face Ripley in just two weeks on Dec. 18.

The lead up to this announcement was after the scheduled Ripley vs. Dakota Kai match which never took place.

Kai was waiting in the ring as Ripley made her way out on stage. She would take to the mic and announce that Kai may have “set her up” at WarGames but she has a “set up” for her right now.

Mia Yim would return to take Kai out. These two throw down in the ring to start but wind up taking it backstage. Kai vs. Yim is confirmed for next week as a result.

Baszler along with Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir would make their way out with Ripley already in the ring. Ripley would do a nice job disposing of Duke and Shafir at first but eventually the numbers game would become too much. Ripley would be put to sleep as a result of Baszler’s Kirifuda Clutch.

After she releases her grip, she let’s Ripley know that her title match will be on Dec. 18.

Who do we think will walk away as champion in just two weeks? Ripley’s push can’t be for nothing, but will Baszler lose her title on a random episode of NXT?
