Raquel Gonzalez has made her official NXT TakeOver debut in a huge way. Formally going by the first name of Reina, Gonzalez is one of only a handful of women who participated in both Mae Young Classic Tournaments. Since then she has been frequent at NXT live shows. She has competed both as a singles competitor and also tag-teaming with Rhea Ripley.
Tonight at TakeOver: Portland, Gonzalez was the deciding factor in the brutal Street Fight between Tegan Nox and Dakota Kai. The match culminated with Kai laying on a table with a chair wrapped around her neck. Nox was ready to get her ultimate revenge. She perched herself up on the top turnbuckle and was seconds away from putting Kai on the shelf for a long time.
Enter – Gonzalez. Gonzalez would emerge and stop Nox from ending Kai and the match. This interruption allowed Kai to roll off the table she was resting on. Gonzalez would then launch Nox onto the table, but didn’t quite connect. Nox would hit the side of the table, knocking it over.
This was enough to allow Kai to get the pin and the win. After the match, Gonzalez helped up a perplexed Kai and raised her hand in victory.
