Unwrapped: Eye Candy for the Week Ending December 19th, 2009

We’ve modified our Unwrapped feature a bit. On top of our grading, we’ll give you the chance to give your own grade to each photoshoot, “branding” each like so:

Sweet (Great)Bland (Iffy)Sour (Awful)

Alicia Fox‘s The Bends
Grade: Sweet. I love the copper tones in her ring gear, and her unique poses fit the mood of the shoot while putting a different spin on the typical “ring gear” poses, which usually constitute standing around and putting on your best “tough” face. Alicia shows her personality in these photos–the stretching and balled fist poses being standouts–and makes it a fun shoot. In a few of the shoots it looks like she’s literally coming at you. It’s 3D–no special glasses needed!

Natalya‘s Cross My Heart
Grade: Sweet. Natalya’s back to posing in her Hart ring gear, but at least these are pretty interesting, what with the fringed shoulder accents and interesting designs on the gear. It’s certainly eye-catching, and manages to look interesting even though it’s about her 20th pair of tights in hot pink and black. The poses are a bit different from the usual and they show that she’s becoming increasingly comfortable with photoshoots–she looks like a natural. The photoshoot manages to not blend into the many other similar shoots, but with so many of them, you think she’d be doing more actual wrestling..

Savannah‘s Layered
Grade: Sweet. Savannah’s look is relatively casual, but it’s still photoshoot-worthy, in my opinion. The jeans, leather jacket, and champagne-colored top are a great combination, and the jacket allows Savannah to switch up the shoot by just removing it. I especially love the top, with its interesting weaved texture. Savannah also has broadened her pose repertoire, no longer just smiling her way through the shoot. The poses still could use more personality, but she’s mixing it up just enough for me at this early stage in her career.

Tiffany‘s Calling Card
Grade: Bland. The empire-wasted dress is cute and casual, but I don’t know if it fits with the mood evoked by the slightly-gritty telephone booth setting. I feel like a street-worthy style would have been more appropriate, rather than her looking like she just came from church. The setting is pretty interesting, and the various colors pop right off the screen. The poses are good, but nothing to write home about, as it’s basically her standing around in a phone booth–there’s so much more that could have been done with such a unique setting.

Velvet Sky‘s Leather Bound
Grade: Bland. Velvet’s style is communicated pretty well in this shoot–think Maria crossed with Ashley Massaro–and while I’m not a fan of it, it fits her character pretty well (girly girl thinks she’s a bad ass). Between her day-glow skin, florescent hair, and luminescent lips, I think she just might glow in the dark. To me, it’s a super trashy shoot with super trashy clothes and super trashy poses, but that’s the Beautiful People in a nutshell, isn’t it? I can’t fault her for sticking true to her character. Okay, maybe I could, but I won’t.

NOTE ON TNA PHOTOSHOOTS – I tend to only cover photoshoots with a decent amount of photos. So if TNA has a new shoot with Tara, but there’s only 3 photos, I’m going to skip it. No hard feelings. But if you see any new, sizable TNA shoots feel free to drop us a tweet and let us know–it’s tough to keep track of their new stuff!
