Five matches from Elimination Chamber events that are a must-see

The Elimination Chamber pay-per-view has been a yearly event for WWE since 2010 with the exception of 2016 when it was removed from the schedule. It picked right back up in 2017 and in that year there were three women’s matches on the card. These events main attraction, just as many, was originally focused on the men. That is up until 2018 when the first women’s Elimination Chamber match took place.

In the nine events that have come and gone, there have only been 12 matches for the women. Since 2017, out of the 12 matches, seven of them have taken place in the past three years. That shows how far the women have come in this company.

This coming Sunday as of the time of this writing there will be the third Elimination Chamber match in history. This will determine who the RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch challenges at WrestleMania next month. The participants are Asuka, Natalya, Shayna Baszler, Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan, and Sarah Logan.

In preparation for this match, we will go over five must-see matches from this event’s past. Please note this is not in any order.

Becky Lynch vs. Mickie James – Elimination Chamber 2017

This first match on the list involves Mickie James shortly after her return to WWE. James returned at the end of 2016 as La Luchadora where she wore a mask to hide her identity as she assisted Alexa Bliss. Bliss was feuding with Becky Lynch over the SmackDown and their rivalry culminated to a steel cage match.

With Bliss heading into the match as champion, she knew she had to keep her title at all costs. She employed help from James, who before unmasking, assisted in her retaining the title from Lynch who was the inaugural champion.

This in-turn created a mini-rivalry between Lynch and James. James would then have a rematch on a following SmackDown where she won. Ultimately she would lose thereafter in a two-out-of-three falls match which would end the feud.
