WrestleMania confirmed to take place over a two-night event

WWE has just announced that WrestleMania will now be a two-night event. Earlier in the week, it was decided that the event would be moved to the WWE Performance Center. This will take place in front of no audience and will still take place on April 5. All of these changes being as a direct response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Now, former New England Patriot Rob Gronkowski will be hosting the two-night show on April 4 & April 5.

There was a prior rumor that has been circulating that the move to the Performance Center may just be temporary. In those reports it stated that the show may be moved to Madison Square Garden in June. This has not been confirmed by WWE.

The official preview stated on wwe.com, the only women’s match mentioned was the RAW Women’s Championship with the champion Becky Lynch facing Shayna Baszler. Although not mention, the Royal Rumble winner Charlotte Flair will be facing the NXT Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley.

There haven’t been any other women’s matches announced at this time. A possible Women’s Tag Team Title match between the champions The Kabuki Warriors vs. Alexa Bliss/Nikki Cross may take place. There was the previous mention of a six-pack challenge for the SmackDown Women’s Championship, but with the current pandemic, less contact is probably the route they will take. Which makes it safe to say that the Battle Royal is off the table.

What are your thoughts on the biggest event of the year going on over two nights? Could this be the correct move based on the recent pandemic and the status of no live audience? Leave your thoughts in the comment section below.
