Just as with WrestleMania moving to the WWE Performance Center due to the current pandemic sweeping the globe, NXT TakeOver: Tampa Bay was also halted. At the time of that announcement, there was uncertainty about if this event would still continue. It has been announced today that the matches will still take place. Starting on April 1, the matches will take place on the weekly NXT shows.
The women’s match that was on that TakeOver card was a huge six-woman Ladder Match to determine the next number
On the NXT episode after the announcement to stop the show occurred, there was scheduled to be a match between Candice LeRae and Mercedes Martinez. This did not take place.
With April 1 being just a week away it is uncertain at this time how they will continue to pick the remaining three competitors. It could be possible they change it to a Fatal 4-Way and have LeRae and Martinez face off this week for the then-last spot.
There is also no confirmation on if this match will continue, but with it being the first to be announced, it should. More information will come this week as Triple H provides more information. It appears based on a Tweet by Robert Stone that the match will continue to take place with the first qualifier Chelsea Green.
