It has officially been announced by WWE that NXT Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair will take on RAW Women’s Champion Asuka next week on RAW. Flair was in a Triple Threat match on this week’s RAW and she came up short as Nia Jax won the match and will face Asuka for her title at Backlash.
Flair’s home brand is RAW but seeing as she is the NXT Women’s Champion she is also represented on that brand. This restriction has not stopped her from going to SmackDown as well.
She took advantage of the Brand to Brand Invitational which allowed her to go to the blue brand for the past two weeks. In fact, last week she lost to Bayley in a Champion vs. Champion match where the SmackDown Women’s Champion used the ropes to her favor to make sure she won at any costs.
Although all of this work hasn’t had her title on the line, she will soon enough have to defend at NXT TakeOver: In Your House. At that event on June 7 she will defend her NXT Women’s Title against both Rhea Ripley and Io Shirai.
