Clash of Champions is less than two weeks away and the ladies of the red brand have a lot going on! Last week we were treated to four women’s matches, and although the number of matches are not confirmed for tonight, it shows promise.
The match that is confirmed for tonight is a huge one. It has big implications for what may be the title match at Clash of Champions. We have the six-time woman’s champion, Mickie James, going against Asuka for the RAW Women’s Championship. Asuka recently regained this title against Sasha Banks at SummerSlam.
James won’t have an easy task. Not only does she have to defeat someone she feels is one of the best women’s champions in history, but she has also Natalya and Lana waiting to pounce. She has had many problems with that duo ever since returning from injury.
Other than this stellar match, we learned earlier today that Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler will defend their titles against The Riott Squad at the upcoming pay-per-view. Liv Morgan and Ruby Riott had two handicap matches last week. Morgan pinned Baszler in the first match and was moments away from pinning Jax in the second match. RETRIBUTION interrupted the second match so no result was found. What build-up may we continue to see between these two teams?
Lastly, it was announced as a surprise over the weekend that Mandy Rose has been traded to RAW. She took to social media sounding shocked that this occurred. This was as a result of The Miz’s influence over on SmackDown as he and John Morrison have had their run-ins with Otis. Regardless of Rose’s surprise on this move, she is determined to show what she can do on her new brand.
