The Bella Twins recently joined Access Hollywood and were asked if they were officially done in the ring. Both women have officially “retired” from their in-ring careers but as we know, that word is never concrete in the world of wrestling. They announced their retirements from the ring officially on Total Bellas where they both said it on two separate episodes in March 2019.
Nikki retired due to health concerns. She stated on Jimmy Fallon in April 2019 that there were plans for her and Brie to return to go for the tag titles. She went for a health check-up before that occurred. At that time she found out that she had herniated a disc above where she had prior neck surgery and also had a cyst on her brain.
WWE on Fox’s Twitter account posted the response that Brie gave when asked if they were done in the ring entirely. She talks about how the Women’s Tag Team Titles started at the time they decided to step away from the ring. She said, “We’ve been dying to have tag titles, so I feel we have one more run in us.” Nikki nodded in agreement.
After the current tag champs of Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler defeated Mandy Rose & Dana Brooke last week, The Bellas responded to WWE’s tweet on the matter. They used the raising hand emojis to answer, “can anyone stop these 2?”
The Bella Twins were the female inductees for this year’s Hall of Fame. The ceremony did not occur due to the current health pandemic. Total Bellas is about to start its sixth season on Nov. 12.
